Nissan Rogue Service Manual: VDC warning lamp

Component Function Check

1.CHECK VDC WARNING LAMP FUNCTION

Check that VDC warning lamp in combination meter turns ON for 1 second after ignition switch is turned ON.

CAUTION: Never start the engine. Is the inspection result normal? YES >> Inspection End.

NO >> Proceed to BRC-122, "Diagnosis Procedure".

Diagnosis Procedure

1.CHECK ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT) POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT

Perform the trouble diagnosis for ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) power supply and ground circuit.

Refer to BRC-122, "Diagnosis Procedure".

Is the inspection result normal? YES >> GO TO 2.

NO >> Repair or replace error-detected parts.

2.PERFORM THE SELF-DIAGNOSIS

With CONSULT

  1.  Turn the ignition switch OFF → ON.

CAUTION:

  1.  Repeat step 1 two or more times.
  2.  Perform self-diagnosis for “ABS”.

Is any DTC detected? YES >> Check the DTC. Refer to BRC-55, "DTC Index".

NO >> GO TO 3.

3.CHECK VDC WARNING LAMP SIGNAL

With CONSULT

  1.  Select “ABS”, “DATA MONITOR” and “SLIP/VDC LAMP” according to this order.
  2.  Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  3.  Check that data monitor displays “On” for approx. 1 second after ignition switch is turned ON, and then changes to “Off”.

CAUTION: Never start the engine. Is the inspection result normal? YES >> Replace the combination meter. Refer to MWI-82, "Removal and Installation".

NO >> Replace the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to BRC-136, "Removal and Installation".
