POSSIBLE CAUSE
FAIL-SAFE
ECM stops the electric throttle control actuator control, throttle valve is maintained at a fixed opening (approx.
5 degrees) by the return spring.
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.
>> GO TO 2.
2.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
Is DTC detected? YES >> Proceed to EC-436, "Diagnosis Procedure".
NO >> INSPECTION END
Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR OUTPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT
Is the inspection result normal? YES >> GO TO 2.
NO >> Repair or replace error-detected parts.
2.CHECK THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR
Check the throttle control motor. Refer to EC-437, "Component Inspection".
Is the inspection result normal? YES >> GO TO 3.
NO >> Replace electric throttle control actuator. Refer to EM-26, "Removal and Installation".
3.CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Refer to GI-41, "Intermittent Incident".
>> INSPECTION END
Component Inspection
1.CHECK THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR
Is the inspection result normal? YES >> INSPECTION END
NO >> Replace electric throttle control actuator. Refer to EM-26, "Removal and Installation".
